I went from being super intimidated about programming and back end development, but this book eases your mind and makes you feel like you can do anything. And after reading it you start looking at programming in a completely different way. Pros: * Easy to comprehend * Well laid out * The tone of the author is very pleasant and not boring at all * Encourages you to experiment with what you've learned and encourages you to go out explore even further * He makes you feel smart * He makes you feel like you actually have a shot at being a paid developer Cons: * There were a few typos and some missing syntax in a few of the coding examples, but even with that being the case this book is still awesome Once I land a gig here in the next three months it'll be thanks to this book and this amazing author. And I’m not ready to call myself a software engineer any time soon. I think I would need to take about 3 college courses in software engineering and this book would be the first textbook. I would recommend that the index be expanded. I would recommend a book on Python to go with this book.

I downloaded and installed Visual Studio Code, Ubuntu, and Docker Desktop. On page 22, it says to use the docker build command. I did, and I got a file or folder not found error. I've spent 4 hours searching the internet for an answer to this. I cant find it. This book is supposed to be written for absolute beginners. Apparently, it is not, as I, a beginner, am stuck 22 pages into it...
