WWI U.S. Private Purchase BootsThese are WWI era US private purchase boots. I do not dabble too much with Great War stuff so I am not well versed in the equipment. The boots would be good for a mannequin. The leather is still pretty flexible. The newspapers that are stuffing the calves are newer. These measure 16 3 4" tall from bottom of heel to top. On sole from tip of toe to back of heel measures 11". Widest part of sole measures just under 4 inches. There is a stamped number "7"

Must have prior knowlege

After reading the reviews, it seemed like this was the perfect book to start learning about software engineering. Unfortunately, it is not. it assumes some program knowledge. I downloaded and installed Visual Studio Code, Ubuntu, and Docker Desktop. On page 22, it says to use the docker build command. I did, and I got a file or folder not found error. I've spent 4 hours searching the internet for an answer to this. I cant find it. This book is supposed to be written for absolute beginners. Apparently, it is not, as I, a beginner, am stuck 22 pages into it...

I feel ashamed holding this book in my hand wherever I go. I use a bag now to hide it. This is true that coding is on computer, but when you memorize the basics you waste less time googling.

Another quality Quick Start book
Format: Paperback
Haven't gotten that far into the book yet, but so far the material is good.
IMO, the book would be far better if it had a spiral binding like the Python Quick Start books I bought. Programming type books are much easier and better to use when they lay flat.
This would probably make the book more expensive to purchase, but would be well worth it.
The contents of the book are well laid out starting with simple basic topics and progressing through the more advanced ones. The chapters on Asynchronous JavaScript and JQuery were, IMHO, light in the amount of information provided. The book is designed/written to provide a "quick start" on JS, but I think that there could have been more details provided for these two topics.
All in all this book provides an adequate introduction to doing JS coding.
Any plans on doing an advanced Javascript book to cover topics like map and other advanced programming constructs?
