Both ends unscrew and can be used as a cigar rest if you don't have an ash tray handy. It definitely will not fit any cigar over 6 inches in length. It looks really nice and definitely provides protection for the cigar. The claim that it has one end to use as an ashtray is ridiculous, so bring an ashtray as this will not work for that. It is a cigar holder with a rest and nothing more. Bring along a proper cutter and an ashtray and you will be happy. I deducted one star for the poor punch cutter and the ashtray claim.
